About HK Company Guide

HK Company Guide is a free resource for entrepreneurs and SMEs navigating Hong Kong's business registration system. We focus specifically on HSIC (Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification) codes — the industry codes that determine how your company is classified by banks, regulators, and the government.

Why We Built This

Every week, hundreds of Hong Kong company applications are rejected by banks due to poorly chosen Business Nature declarations that map to high-risk HSIC codes. Yet finding clear, bilingual information about HSIC codes is surprisingly difficult.

We built the HSIC Code Finder to solve that problem: a fast, searchable, bilingual database of all 1,001 official HSIC V2.0 sub-class codes, with plain-English explanations and bank risk flags.

Data Sources

All HSIC data is sourced from the official Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification Version 2.0 manual published by the Census and Statistics Department of Hong Kong. We are not affiliated with the Hong Kong Government.
